about

Melody Monroe is a one-woman-band and award-winning poet, who is gaining notoriety on the World Wide Web for her live-loop performances. Lauded for her intricate lyricism and dynamic compositions, Melody's rig has taken her all over the USA. Her release, "Summer Storm," commemorates the longest summer in recent memory, grapples with themes of hope amidst chaos, and invites the listener to dance about it.

lyrics

I wrote this note to fill some space
all alone in a crowded place
a wisp of smoke lends me her grace
swift cursive dying rumor
her voice is a warm embrace
until the emptiness consumes her

These thoughts come in waves
thoughts gather inundate
how is it we go for days and days,
dry skies, not one reminder?
Once I'm sure the reservoir has dried up -
the summer storm, in full force, finds us.
